Hampton, VA, March 2004 - Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of KPSI™ Level and Pressure Transducers, has unveiled a new re-rangeable submersible hydrostatic level transducer that delivers outstanding sensor compensation and the ability for users to turn down the full-scale output of the transducer by as much as 10:1.

The new Model 772 utilizes the latest in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology to fully compensate for sensor errors due to temperature and to re-range the transducer via the attached cable. The terminal readings (zero and span) are adjustable at any turndown using simple re-ranging tools and Windows-based software available from Pressure Systems. The ability to re-range the transducer in the field provides tremendous flexibility to inventory transducers locally.

Offering level ranges up to 230 ft (70 m), the Model 772 is ideal for ground and surface water monitoring, down hole and shipboard use, dewatering and level control.

The Model 772 has a Total Error Band (TEB) specification of ±0.25% FS at 1:1 turndown over the full operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). This specification eliminates the need for the user to combine and calculate multiple performance specifications in order to understand the true total accuracy of the sensor.

Available with analog outputs of 4-20 mA and 0-5 VDC, this new transducer can be furnished with welded 316 SS or titanium construction, ensuring maximum resistance to hostile liquids and gases. The cable is custom-manufactured to Pressure Systems’ stringent specifications with a polyurethane or Tefzel® jacket and Kevlar members to prevent errors due to cable elongation, as well as a unique water block that self-seals in the event of accidental cuts to the cable. Each transducer is furnished with a vent filter that prevents moisture from entering the vent tube.

The new Model 772 KPSI transducer is compliant to EN 61000-6-4:2001 and EN 61000-6-2:2001.
